For clarification on culverts:
1. If your culvert was damaged due to snow removal , the town will repair or replace the culvert at the towns cost.
2. Culverts which are otherwise damaged and/or part of an installed driveway which results in a significant negative impact on drainage for the town are the responsibility of the homeowner, as per bylaw # 936 Zoning Bylaw Section (6.7) sub section (5). " it is the sole responsibility of property owners to construct and maintain road access to their property line and the travelled portion of the street right-of-way, subject to the Town’s Engineering Standards."
3. At this time the Town is able to help reduce costs to residents as a part of our community drainage work by providing removal and installation services for identified culverts. Residents will only be responsible for the purchase of a new culvert.
4. If your culvert requires replacement, you will be contacted by Town Staff in the coming weeks.
