About our Volunteer Fire / EMS Team

Fire/EMS

The Fort Smith Volunteer Fire/EMS Department is a group of dedicated volunteers trained to respond to structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, and urban/wildland interface wildfires, and provide high-quality pre-hospital health care and ambulance transportation as well as other emergencies.

Our volunteers are provided with excellent training to maintain a high standard of service. The fire department follows the nationally respected NFPA 1001 certification and training curriculum. EMS members are trained Emergency Medical Responders. Rigorous in-house training maintains and builds on this high level of knowledge and ability.
