RE: Community Facility Safety
The Town of Fort Smith is aware of the recent incident reported at Paul William Kaeser High School (PWK) involving the discovery of a recording device in a student change room.
In response to this incident, the Town has promptly taken precautionary measures and conducted thorough inspections of all public washrooms and change rooms at both the Fort Smith Recreation Centre and the Arena. No suspicious devices were found during these inspections.
The safety, security, and privacy of our residents and facility users remain a top priority. The Town takes matters of this nature very seriously and is committed to maintaining safe and welcoming public spaces for everyone.
We understand that this incident may raise concerns within our community and wish to reassure residents that we have taken proactive steps to ensure the safety and privacy of those using our municipal facilities.
The Town of Fort Smith will continue to remain vigilant and take appropriate measures to protect the well-being of our community.
