As of today, October 3rd, 2025 the Fort Smith Protective Services has lifted the Town wide Fire Restriction in place since June 30th.
This means that the burning of brush, leaves and grass outside of an approved fire pit may be permitted once a burn permit is acquired.
No burn permit is required for fires in approved fire pits burning clean, dry, seasoned firewood.
Fires must not create nuisance smoke. Burning cardboard, plastics, or other garbage is strictly prohibited at all times.Burn permits are available at Town Hall.
