Wildfire Update – No Threat to the Town of Fort Smith

Currently, there is no threat to the Town of Fort Smith from nearby wildfire activity. This update is being shared for situational awareness and community preparedness.

Pumps are being set up at the boat launch with a 12-inch hose line running up the hill through the quad trail behind the liquor store, around the back of Parks Drive, and along to Carls Drive. These systems are being placed as a precautionary measure in the event the fire moves closer to the Town.

We kindly ask that residents avoid these areas so that crews can work safely and without disruption.

The same structure protection systems will also be installed at Border Town, Halfway, and Fort Fitzgerald. Please join us in welcoming back Fire & Flood, the company that assisted during the 2023 fires. Their team is currently setting up structural protection in Fort Fitzgerald.
