Public Notice: Wildfire Update

There is currently no threat to the Town of Fort Smith from nearby wildfires. This update is shared for awareness and preparedness.

Fire & Flood crews are setting up structure protection systems, including a high-volume hose running from the boat launch through the quad trail and Parks Drive to Carls Drive. The hose is active along Marine Drive and narrows the road—please avoid the area and give crews space to work safely.

Similar systems are being installed in Border Town, Halfway, and Fort Fitzgerald.

Ongoing Preparedness and Community Safety

The Town recognizes and appreciates the significant proactive efforts currently underway to protect our community. Equipment is being strategically placed, and agencies are working closely together in case conditions change.

General Evacuation Preparedness Reminder

While there is no immediate risk, we encourage all residents to review their evacuation plans as a precaution. Know your exits, keep essential documents and supplies accessible, and stay informed through official Town and government updates. More information at www.fortsmith.ca/emergencyplan
