Fire Danger Level: VERY HIGH in Wood Buffalo National Park
Fire Ban: A partial (recreational) fire ban remains in effect
New Fires: No new fires have been reported in the park
Current Conditions:
Dry conditions and low relative humidity continue across Wood Buffalo National Park. These conditions increase the risk of wildfires, which can ignite easily and spread quickly. Please respect the recreational fire ban currently in effect.
A chance of showers is expected to begin Friday night and continue through the weekend.
Fire 2025WB003 Tulip Lake Wildfire:
This fire continues to be strategically managed to ensure it does not spread beyond its preestablished containment zone.
Smoke Advisory:
Wildfires burning outside the east, west, and south boundaries of the park may cause drifting smoke.
General Evacuation Preparedness Reminder
While there is no immediate risk, we encourage all residents to review their evacuation plans as a precaution. Know your exits, keep essential documents and supplies accessible, and stay informed through official Town and government updates. More information at www.fortsmith.ca/emergencyplan
