Partial Fire Ban in Effect

A partial fire ban is in effect as of 5:00 pm August 03, 2021, within the Fort Smith municipal boundary.

This ban does not include approved backyard fire pits.

All other fires are banned, and all previously issued permits are not cancelled for the duration of the ban.

Remember to have a water source nearby and completely extinguish any fire when unattended.

Note: an approved fire pit must be constructed of nonflammable materials, must be at least 2 meters from a structure, be less than 1 meter across, and contain a fire that does not exceed 1 meter in height. The surrounding area must be cleared of combustible materials.
