A message from the Director of Protective Services:
After discussing the current fire danger rating, upcoming hot weather pattern, and the lack of precip this spring, we are going to be implementing a FIRE RESTRICTION. This means that we will NO LONGER issue burn permits. All existing burn permits will be cancelled.
Fires are only allowed in a fire pit that meets the requirements set forth in our Fire Prevention Bylaw (clear of combustibles, greater than 3 meters from buildings, powerlines, trees etc, made of a non combustible material, water supply near by etc.)
The burning of leaves, grass, brush, cardboard etc. is strictly prohibited and only clean seasoned firewood can be burnt.
