Natural Warmth, Handcrafted in Fort Smith
Aurora Heat is an Indigenous-owned manufacturing social enterprise based in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories. Founded by Brenda Dragon, Aurora Heat creates long-lasting, reusable warmers made from sheared wild beaver fur, offering natural warmth rooted in Indigenous knowledge, northern living, and respect for the Land.
Handcrafted in Fort Smith, Aurora Heat warmers are designed for gloves, mittens, boots, shoes, pockets, and close-to-body warmth. They provide a practical, natural alternative to disposable chemical warmers, using the soft, dense underfur of wild beaver to hold body heat close in cold northern conditions.
Aurora Heat supports Indigenous women artisans, northern employment, local manufacturing, and the responsible use of natural materials. Through near zero-waste practices, each pelt is used fully and respectfully to create durable products made to last for years.
Our beaver fur is sourced through Indigenous and Canadian wildlife stewardship across Canada, including the Genuine Mackenzie Valley Fur Program in the Northwest Territories. This connection supports trappers, northern communities, and the continuation of traditional knowledge in a modern manufacturing business.
From Fort Smith, Aurora Heat ships across Canada and to the United States, serving customers, visitors, retailers, and corporate buyers looking for natural warmth made with purpose.
