People may have noticed a smoke column in the distance! This kind of activity is expected in the area until we get LOTS of rain or snow.... that is exactly why we remain on EVACUATION ALERT. The smoke seen today does not pose an immediate risk to Fort Smith but follow the Town Facebook pages and website for updated information.
PLEASE NOTE: The Town of Fort Smith will remain on EVACUATION ALERT and a FIRE BAN will remain in place. Please remember to follow local media for updates on wildfire conditions in the area. Keep an evacuation kit packed and ready at all times!

Employment Insurance (EI) benefits and leave information for workers, families, fishers, and sickness, how to apply, and how to submit a report.
Go to the South Slave section. South Slave evacuees (Hay River, Enterprise, Fort Smith, K’atl’odeeche First Nation) who are evacuating by road to Alberta should proceed to the nearest open reception center as listed.
