Fort Smith has numerous venues for you to host your next gathering, whether it is something small and intimate or a large conference; we can meet your needs. Add in great food, northern hospitality and numerous adventure opportunities, and you will be pleasantly surprised with the friendly service and a great experience.

Request a Donation

Each year the Town Council allocates limited budget funding to support community events.

Community groups or organizations that can demonstrate financial need and are interested in requesting a donation from the Town of Fort Smith are encouraged to review the Town of Fort Smith Donation Policy and complete the Donation Request Form, attached below.

The following guidelines will help to get you started:

The Fort Smith Paddling Club

The Fort Smith Paddling Club wins by geography!  We are located on the shores of the Slave River, along a historic portage route which led fur traders around the rapids that we now love to play in.

The Slave River Rapids are a dream for big whitewater paddlers!  This is a drop pool river - in between the four main ledges, there are sections of flatwater.  This means that our river has paddling opportunities for everyone, from beginner routes on flatwater to extreme grade V and VI routes.

Photo Contest Winners!

Congratulations to all the winners!

The winning photo is by Pierre Emmanuel Chaillon, and his image of a perfect moment at the Slave River Paddlefest of paddler, Jon Blyth,  with soaring pelicans in the background.

Thank you to everyone who entered the contest!

Did you miss the contest this year? Don't worry, start dreaming up your perfect shot because we will host another contest next year!
