Whether you’re embarking on a long-haul NWT adventure or exploring the South Slave Region, Fort Smith is fully equipped to serve as the basecamp for any trip. Local businesses have what you need if you’re looking for a few days’ rest, to take in the sights, or to stock up for excursions.

For overnight stays, there are hotels and a number of bed and breakfasts. Take in a few meals at local restaurants and cafes,before venturing into the bush. The drugstore, liquor store, hardware store, outfitters, and gift shops will help you find everything you need.
