Fort Smith Job Creation Fund

The Fort Smith Job Creation Fund is a GNWT funded program which supports new employment opportunities in Fort Smith. This funding encourages local job creation and puts Fort Smith in a better position for long-term economic growth.

Funding

Private sector businesses and non-profit organizations across all industries can apply for funding to reduce the costs of hiring and training for new positions within their organization. 

Employers can:

• apply for a grant to offset salary or on-the-job training costs, or both to:
  •  Subsidize salary for a new position in your organization or on-the-job training for a new position up to $25,000 per business or organization.

April 1, 2022 - March 31, 2023 - Fiscal Year Applications / Expenditure Reports Due

• If you applied for funding during the 2022 - 2023 fiscal year, expenditure reports are due by March 31, 2023. Please see form attached below OR fill out the Expenditure Report online at: https://forms.gle/71JstUSLHsxenfZn7
• If you applied for the first time during the 2022 - 2023 fiscal year, your business or organization may be eligible for continued support for a second year upon submission of the Job Creation Fund Expenditure Report

April 1, 2023 - March 31, 2024 - Fiscal Year Applications

• If you applied during the 2022 - 2023 fiscal year, your business or organization may be eligible for continued support for a second year upon submission of the Job Creation Fund Expenditure Report
• Expressions of Interest application period is now open.
• Applications will be open from March 1 - April 30, 2023

   2.  PDF - Expression of Interest Form - to print and complete - see attachment in documents section below.
2. Scan and email Expressions of Interest to : dseals@fortsmith.ca OR
   1. Drop off at the Town of Fort Smith Administration Office (Town Hall) at 174 McDougal Road, Fort Smith, NT.
