Public Notice: Speed Limit Signs Being Installed
The Town is installing 40 km/h unless otherwise posted speed limit signs at all highway accesses into the community.
This is not a new speed limit or a new rule. The default speed limit within municipal boundaries is already 40 km/h unless otherwise posted, in accordance with the Traffic Control Bylaw.
The new signs are being installed to better inform drivers and reinforce the existing speed limit for the safety of all road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and other drivers.
Drivers are reminded to watch for posted speed limits, reduce speed when entering town, and drive safely.
All speed signs indicating over 40km/hr along the highway corridor and other areas remain in affect.
Enforcement will begin June 26, 2026.
