We are updating our Bylaw that speaks to how land is zoned. This will better align with our modern development needs and incorporate wildfire protection and environmental concerns.
Land Use Zones:
SR: Salt River First Nation Development Lands (NEW)
UR: Urban Reserve — for future planning adjustments made to some boundaries
ES: Environmentally Sensitive Areas — Adjustments made to allow for different uses that still protect environmental concerns
R: Residential — Number of zones has been adjusted to support increased housing options.
Development Process Improvements:
- Making the permit application clearer for users.
- Defining specific roles for Town staff & Council.
- New rules for Development Agreements.
Updated Development Standards:
- Wildfire hazard protection measures.
- Modern parking and landscaping requirements
- Expanded regulations for secondary suites, home occupations and greenhouses.
